Passover commemorates the escape of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. In Hebrew, Egypt is Mitzrayim, which also means “narrow place.” Passover is also a time to give thanks for safe passage through the narrow places in our own lives, be they illnesses or other hard times.

Two years ago this week I took this picture of Lynn holding our then six week old grandson, Noah.
Happy Birthday, Grandma!

The first is an homage to Georgia O’Keeffe.

The second was inspired by a book called Flowers for Lisa, by Abelardo Morell.


Reaching into the wayback files this week to revisit an old favorite of mine.


My grandfather was a carpenter before the days of power tools. A few of his hand tools have been passed down to me. This is one that I still like to use.
