According to Wikipedia, “Porchfests are annual music events held across the United States and in Canada on front porches. Started in Ithaca, New York in 2007, porchfest events bring local musicians and neighborhoods together to celebrate and create a sense of community.” Newton held it’s second annual Porchfest last weekend, and it was, in my opinion, fantastic. Who knew there was so much talent lurking in my own neighborhood? Here is one of many acts we took in, local singer Alizon Lissance belting out a song in front of a lovely porch in Newton Lower Falls.




While walking by Ware’s Cove, I came upon this young aspiring goose herder working on his technique. The geese seemed unimpressed.
